State Bank of India has published a recruitment notice for various posts of Probationary Officer. After completing the applications process, SBI is going to conduct the select test for these posts. The selection process for the same will conduct into various phases.

The SBI will complete the selection test for these posts into three phases which are mention below.

  • Preliminary Exam
  • Main Exam
  • Group Exercise & Interview

First, the candidates will invite for the Preliminary Test. After this test, the shortlisted candidates are called for the main exam and then for Group exercise and interview.

SBI PO Preliminary Exam Details

The preliminary exam is the first phase of selection for SBI PO. Some people called it Prelims Exam. The prelims exam will be conducted in online mode. This paper will organize for 100 marks and included questions from the English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.

SBI PO Main Exam Details

After the Preliminary Exam, the shortlisted candidates are called for Main Exam. SBI PO Main Exam will be divided into two papers i.e. Objective Type Paper and Descriptive Test. Both the papers will conduct into online mode. The descriptive paper is arranged just after the objective paper.

Objective Paper 

The objective test will be conducted for 200 marks. The paper will consist 155 questions for 200 marks. The paper will divide into 4 parts, and the test will have a separate time for each part. The questions will ask from Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness and English Language.

Descriptive Paper

The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

Candidates will have to answer Descriptive Test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered.

Note- Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in the objective test.

SBI PO Group Exercises & Interview

The aspirants who will qualify in the main exam is called for Group Exercise & Interview. An adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by the Bank will be called for Group Exercises and Interview. The qualifying marks for this test will be as decided by the Bank.

SBI PO Merit List / Final Selection

The selection of the candidates is based on the final selection list. The final selection list will be designed on the basis of marks of Main exam and group exercise & interview. The marks of prelims exam will not be added in the selection list.

Merit list will design out of 100 marks in which 75% marks will add from Main Exam and rest 25% marks will be added from Group Exercise & Interview.
